Pemarks Manifesto

Why we built Pemarks and how we intend to run it
Last updated: Loading...

We built Pemarks because the web forgets too quickly. Sources disappear, pages are rewritten, and evidence vanishes. We want to help professionals keep a reliable historical record of what was online at a specific moment. This manifesto states our intent, not a legal promise.

1. Who We Work For

We do not operate Pemarks for short-term shareholder optics. We operate it for customers who need durable archives: investigators, journalists, legal teams, researchers, compliance specialists, and anyone who cannot afford link rot.

2. Why Pemarks Is a Paid Service

High-fidelity archiving is infrastructure-heavy. We store full page resources (images, styles, scripts, fonts, and more), and we store them with redundancy (replicas, backups, recovery paths). This has real and recurring cost.

Our operating intention is simple: keep the service sustainable, cover operational expenses, and continue improving reliability. No statement in this manifesto creates any binding commitment on pricing policy, profit allocation, or future product scope.

3. Beta Reality

Pemarks is currently in a beta phase. Infrastructure and architecture may evolve over time (for example: single instance to managed clusters, migrations, scaling changes, operational reconfiguration). We will use commercially reasonable efforts to protect user data through those changes, but incidents and migration complexity can occur.

4. What We Commit To In Practice

5. No Guarantee, No SLA, No Liability Expansion

This manifesto is informational only. It is not a warranty, service-level agreement, legal guarantee, or contractual commitment. Service interruptions, degraded performance, delayed access, failed captures, or unavailability (including multi-hour outages) may happen.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, nothing in this manifesto creates liability, damages rights, uptime commitments, retention guarantees, evidentiary guarantees, or other enforceable obligations beyond the governing legal terms.

6. Relationship with Legal Terms

Your use of Pemarks is governed by the End User License Agreement and the Beta Program Warning. If any statement in this manifesto differs from those legal documents, the legal documents control.
